bjj fans in Hong Kong, where are you all? this website is a very good platform for us to get to know each other. Go ahead and sign in as a member.
Luke, thanks for putting on this very informative website. I think a piece on bjj in hk would be very interesting, giving the number of resident black belts.

Hello, I'll be visiting HK for a week or so. I'll be in Kowloon mostly. What BJJ places should I look up to train? I've trained a little bit of BJJ and some judo, but haven't had any training at all for about a year now, so I'll probably be the guy wheezing in a corner of the mat within the first 10 minutes of training!

Also, if you someone could suggest decent judo places that'd be cool.

Thank you very much!

Here's what I know to be available.

* Gracie Barra HK (Henry Chan-purple)
* Impakt (Quinton Arendse-brown)
* Jab MMA (Xandinho-black)
* Kowloon BJJ (Taki-brown, Kei-purple)
* Kylin BJJ (Thomas Fan-brown)
* Kontact Gym (Silvio Braga-black)
* Tai Kok Tsui Sports Centre (Makoto Aramaki-black)

Personally, I've only trained at Kowloon BJJ while visiting Hong Kong but I am familiar with most of the clubs there. In just the last year, Hong Kong has become a hot-spot for BJJ black-belts with the arrival of: Silvio Braga, Xandinho, Daniel Charles, Makoto Aramaki, Chet Quint.

If you're already in the Kowloon area, I would highly recommend training at KLN BJJ. The atmosphere is great and with plenty of tough/technical guys to train with. Overall though, I don't think you can go wrong with any location in HK.

Best of luck,
Luke

Hello, first and foremost, I got to say, awesome website! It's very cool that you took the initiative and time to maintain this site!

I got a question and hopefully you can help. I've read information on the other BJJ dojos in HK, but I couldn't find any info on Makoto Aramaki JJ.

Can you please provide any information? It is much appreciated. Thanks!

Makoto is teaching at one or two spots in Hong Kong but am not sure if he's settled at a permanent location just yet. He does maintain a blog (in Japanese) but with English schedule to when/where he teaches. Here's the link:
